Registered Nurse - Orthopedic and General Surgery

Location

This position is based within a 50-mile radius of the specified location.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a multi-disciplinary team environment. This role will primarily focus on patients undergoing orthopedic and general surgeries, including post-operative recovery and medical management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Transfuse blood products as needed.
• Perform wound vac changes and manage PCA pumps.
• Titrate heparin drips per protocol.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide efficient and patient-centered care.
• Utilize patient care technicians for assistance with routine patient care tasks.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in orthopedic and general surgical nursing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips is not required, as this will be done by monitor techs.
