Job Description

The Mammography/Ultrasound Technologist performs breast imaging procedures including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound, and assists with breast ultrasound biopsy while following MQSA and ACR guidelines for breast imaging.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions, and safe administration of radiation.
• Identify and review patient requisitions for consistency with clinical diagnoses.
• Maintain working knowledge of mammography and stereotactic equipment, examinations, and protocols.
• Conduct and document quality control to ensure compliance with MQSA and ACR guidelines.
• Communicate and educate patients appropriately regarding breast imaging procedures.
• Review and perform breast imaging examinations for technical accuracy.
• Schedule breast imaging appointments and coordinate exams to ensure quality care.
• Assist in managing departmental workflow and patient charges.
• Organize and monitor medical supply inventory for cost efficiency.
• Participate in breast health education and promotional events.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of experience preferred, with prior healthcare experience preferred.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Mammography (M) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Must possess computer skills necessary to complete online job-specific requirements.
