MedSurg RN - Night Shift

Job Description

The MedSurg RN will work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down unit dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based care to patients. This unit focuses on patients requiring more specialized care than what is available on a general medical-surgical floor.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care with a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Monitor patients receiving continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry.
• Manage airway, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated medicated IV infusions.
• Respond to emergencies and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Maintain proper isolation precautions and patient safety standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of MedSurg nursing experience.
• Current NY license in hand - no exceptions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory.
• Ability to float as needed to ICU or MedSurg units.
