Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed. This role includes evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, as well as educating patients about procedures and home discharge instructions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician prescribed treatments, operating various ventilatory and aerosol equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using various methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography, and review chest x-rays for further evaluation.
• Perform pulmonary function studies and assist in procedures related to respiratory care.
• Manage tracheostomy care and arterial punctures according to policy.
• Record treatment information and communicate effectively with medical staff.
• Maintain equipment and report any issues for preventative maintenance and repair.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Successful completion of a respiratory therapy program and current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist are required. BLS and ACLS certifications are necessary, along with experience in both invasive and non-invasive ventilation techniques.
