PICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Night & Day Shift

Schedule

The position involves a rotating schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, alternating between night (19:00 - 07:30) and day (07:00 - 19:30) shifts, with holiday requirements during the contract period. Weekend coverage of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule is mandatory.

Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse will provide care for critically ill children ages 0-18. The unit specializes in a combination of medical and surgical cases and requires a dynamic assessment of varying patient needs including ECMO, CRRT, and complex supportive therapies. The role demands a high level of clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PICU.
• Monitor and assess patient health status, making critical decisions and interventions as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of PICU nursing experience required.
• Current South Carolina or Multi State/Compact RN License required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and PALS certifications required.
• Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred.
