Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Pediatric Oncology RN will provide specialized care for patients in a pediatric setting, specifically in oncology and chemotherapy. The role requires the RN to float between units, including PICU and NICU, as necessary based on patient acuity and hospital needs. Candidates must have a strong foundation in general pediatrics and possess advanced skills relevant to the oncology field.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Manage patient care, ensuring proper administration of medications, including IV insulin pumps and anti-seizure medications.
• Support patients and families in understanding treatments and managing symptoms.
• Perform nursing skills such as phlebotomy, central line care, and wound assessment.
• Facilitate communication among interdisciplinary teams and provide emotional support to patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 1.5 years of experience in pediatric nursing with a focus on oncology.
• BLS, PALS, and APHON certifications required; OCN certification preferred.
• Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at the time of submission.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is preferred.
