Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises occupational therapy treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' level of functioning based on physician orders and plans appropriate treatment.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team process and discharge planning for patients, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students, providing education on theory and techniques of Occupational Therapy.
• Complete all necessary documentation and daily progress notes within defined timeframes.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure the best patient care, communicating effectively with patients and their families.
• Ensure safety practices regarding patient handling, materials handling, and workplace hazards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• Must hold a valid, current state license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy.
