Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN is responsible for supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while actively participating in the rehabilitation program and promoting patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
- Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for effective care delivery.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing education for patients and their families.
- Initiate discharge planning starting from the day of admission, ensuring all necessary preparations are made.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to support continuity of care.
- Provide guidance and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
- Charge nurse experience is required.
- Active nursing license in the state for which they are applying is desired.
Schedule
This position operates on a day shift, consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts.
