Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge Nurse - Night Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is effectively followed. The RN plays a crucial role in supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while also acting as a Charge Nurse to support and guide the nursing team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admissions and create individualized care plans.
- Identify patient and family teaching needs based on assessments and collaborate with the Interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in medical records.
- Support the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education concerning their healthcare needs.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide appropriate teaching in anticipation of discharge.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
- Supervise and direct ancillary nursing personnel while effectively prioritizing and utilizing resources.
- Contribute positively to unit dynamics through effective communication and teamwork.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested, and advocate for patient and employee safety.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
Schedule
This position operates on a night shift schedule, consisting of three 12-hour shifts.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
