Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting patient and employee safety. Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient.
• Provide patient information and status in a timely manner for team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to hospital policies.
• Assume charge responsibility when requested after orientation.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift.
• Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience post-graduation.
• Experience in stepdown, ICU, or LTAC preferred.
