Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety. The focus is on treating others with respect and achieving results as a resourceful team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the patient's diagnosis in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on patient education based on identified healthcare needs.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Promote a positive and efficient work environment through teamwork and effective communication.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed and pursue professional development opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Experience in Stepdown, ICU, or LTAC settings is required.
