Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants and embraces the core values of the organization, focusing on patient safety and quality care for all patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education on the day of admission.
• Ensure effective communication regarding changes in patient status to all care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel while ensuring personal and environmental safety.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and communication.
• Maintain communication with management regarding clinical training needs and necessary supplies.
• Assume charge responsibility as required after the orientation period.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to position).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• Active nursing license in the applicable state is desired.
• Recent ICU experience is highly preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts.
