Surgical Technologist - Day Shift

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist facilitates operative and other invasive procedures by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. They maintain the sterile field and anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures.
• Assemble supplies and equipment required for the procedure.
• Prepare and organize sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Perform accounting procedures in concert with the RN circulator.
• Assist with placement of sterile drapes.
• Provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure.
• Maintain an organized sterile field and ensure sterility.
• Prepare sterile dressings and assist with post-procedure cleaning of the room.
• Participate in ongoing educational and competency verification activities.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Licenses/ Certifications: BLS required; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
• CRASE training may be required if the travel assignment extends over 6 months.

This position is for a day shift.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
