Med/Surg RN - Full Time (36 hours)

Schedule

FT 3x12s - Day or Night shifts scheduled as needed, including EOW and Holidays, with 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs through active listening and analyzing data from various sources.
• Creates individualized, culturally relevant care plans in collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
• Promotes and protects the health, safety, and rights of patients while building trust among team members.
• Teaches patients and families about care and supports learning to enhance understanding of self-care post-discharge.
• Documents education provided and evaluates patient/family responses.
• Engages in self-evaluation to identify areas for professional development.
• Delivers compassionate care while striving to understand and address patient/family needs.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and other nursing interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure (Required)
• BLS and ACLS (AHA or RQI only)
• One (1) Year Experience serving in Med/Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse (Required)
