Physical Therapist - Alexandria, Virginia

Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient's needs and physician direction. This role is responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. By ensuring the design of functional treatment programs, the Physical Therapist allows for effective return to community activities and serves as an educator of patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
• Utilizes clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address barriers to discharge.
• Manages individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions based on patient care needs.
• Documents medical records in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
• Participates in student program assignments and provides supervision.
• Actively pursues professional development and continuing education.
• Adheres to discipline-specific State Practice Acts and maintains licensure.
• Participates in patient and professional advocacy efforts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid and current State license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
• BLS Certification is required prior to the first shift.

Schedule

This position offers a Day 5x8 schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
