Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Floating Required)

Job Description

This IMCU unit handles a variety of diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, and Respiratory conditions. The unit features 64 beds, with 15 designated for Neuro patients. Common conditions treated include COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative care. Specialty equipment includes Temp pacers, Chest tubes, A lines, Bipap, and Neptune Vapo.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).
• Monitor patients with chronic ventilator use and assist with respiratory therapy.
• Utilize specialty equipment as needed for patient care.
• Document patient progress and collaborate with healthcare team members.
• Adapt to floating within the department as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU.
• Travel experience required.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Active NY RN license and verification via NURSYS report.
• Experience with EPIC EMR is required.
