3x12.0 Rotating Schedule, including Days, Evenings, Nights, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge per Unit as needed.

Job Description

The Level 1 RN for the Psych ER is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies. This role involves conducting intake assessments, planning and delivering nursing care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients while making nursing diagnoses of their medical and emotional status.
• Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.
• Administer psychotropic drugs and document reactions appropriately.
• Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
• Document all patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform administrative tasks as necessary, such as filing and completing progress notes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid NY RN License.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
