Straight Nights 7 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday, with on-call as needed.

Job Description

The Med-Surg Registered Nurse is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, compassionate care. This role requires managing patients' needs throughout their hospitalization, with a focus on recovery, education, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health upon admission and throughout their hospital stay.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, including monitoring responses and reporting any adverse reactions.
• Monitor vital signs and document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes according to hospital policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on managing conditions and preparing for discharge.
• Monitor patients recovering from surgery and provide post-operative care and education.
• Ensure patient safety by following infection control protocols and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, providing immediate care as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred.
• Unencumbered Ohio RN License.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
