Schedule
They will work 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM for four days during the week, with roughly four weeknight and one weekend call shift per month. No weekend commitment outside of on-call hours.
Job Description
The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II demonstrates an understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology. Responsibilities include assisting with the orientation and training of staff, managing special projects, and participating in relevant committees while adhering to medical ethics principles.
Responsibilities
- Assist and monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures.
- Recognize ECG waveform morphology and respond appropriately to changes.
- List and describe common cardiac pathologies, including symptoms and treatments.
- Understand and document cardiac medications, including pharmacokinetics.
- Monitor clinical lab values and alert physicians of any abnormalities.
- Perform CPR and intervene during lethal arrhythmias as per ACLS standards.
- Identify coronary anatomy and cardiac pressure waveforms during procedures.
- Set up necessary supplies for diagnostic cardiac catheterizations.
- Understand and differentiate types of vascular interventions and devices.
- Explain indications and potential complications of thrombolytic therapy.
- Identify main components of Cath Lab fluoroscopy systems.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Cath/EP lab.
- Ability to scrub for all types of heart caths and vascular procedures.
- Knowledge of Merge Hemo documentation system preferred.
- RCIS or RCES licensure is preferable; ARRT licensure acceptable with experience.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
