36 or 48 hours per week, including rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as needed.

Job Description

The Adult Cardiac OR provides care for a diverse range of patients undergoing various cardiac procedures, including CABG's, TAVI's, and heart failure treatments such as VAD's, ECMO, artificial hearts, and heart transplants. The Surgical Technologist will support the surgical team by preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures while adhering to sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgical team during operations from the scrub position.
• Ensure proper care and handling of instruments and facilitate room turnover between cases.
• Maintain sterile technique, safe handling of sharps, and perform surgical counts as per hospital policy.
• Demonstrate proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Two (2) years of recent experience in a cardiac OR.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in the operating room.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
