Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in care delivery.
• Plan and anticipate patient care needs effectively.
• Supervise and direct personnel delivering patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two to 5 years of clinical experience required.
• Must have ACLS & BLS certifications (American Heart Association).
• Vent/trach experience and knowledge of central lines preferred.
• Wound care experience is advantageous.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina or multi-state compact RN license.
