Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to maintain continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and engage in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested and prioritize activities effectively.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH Only).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
