Job Description

The Inpatient Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) will be responsible for the assessment and management of patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. The role involves direct patient care as part of a specialized wound care team that rounds on 4 to 5 units daily.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive wound assessment and management.
• Implement care plans for patients with complex wounds and ostomy care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Educate patients and families about wound management and ostomy care.
• Participate in wound care team rounds and patient assessments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact License.
• Wound Care Certified (WCC) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
• Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience is required; first-time travelers with strong skills will be considered.
