Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by offering intensive respiratory treatments and patient transport in accordance with medical prescriptions and within the professional scope of practice. The role requires minimal supervision and involves evaluating patients to recommend suitable treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy and perform suctioning using multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy, and perform preliminary reviews of patients’ chest X-rays.
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care as per policy.
• Perform arterial punctures and routine pulmonary function studies, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with policies.
• Facilitate cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Maintain and monitor mechanical ventilation and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding therapy efficacy and document treatments accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in Ohio and Kentucky.
• Experience with a variety of respiratory care procedures and treatments.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
