Job Description

The primary patient population includes cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients, including open-heart surgery and thoracic lung surgery. This unit also accommodates overflow medical cardiology patients with conditions such as heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for patients post-cardiovascular procedures
• Administer medication and IV therapies
• Perform vital sign checks and monitor patient conditions
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have stepdown and telemetry experience
• Preferred prior experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery patient populations
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required
