Job Description

The Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse with strong Neuro ICU experience. This position requires proficiency in handling complex neurological cases, including those involving external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, and patients suffering from subarachnoid hemorrhages (SAH).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Neuro ICU.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and neurological assessments.
• Manage EVDs, lumbar drains, and other advanced neurosurgical procedures.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy as per protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.
• Float to other Prisma Health units and/or campuses as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of one year of experience with Epic EMR.
• Strong Neuro ICU experience is a must.
• Valid certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with managing patients with neurological injuries such as stroke and postoperative neurosurgery.
• Experience in a large hospital setting (300+ beds) preferred.
