Job Description
The Registered Nurse within the scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing will apply the nursing process to the care of patients, teach patients and significant others, document patient care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall patient care. This role includes conducting specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and/or electrophysiology studies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities.
- Collaborate with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care while participating consistently in Universal Protocol and site marking identification.
- Assist with patient identification, preparation, and draping, as well as room preparation for routine procedures.
- Read physician's orders/protocols, communicate with physicians on protocols for routine procedures, and select equipment accordingly.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment, record preventive maintenance procedures, and troubleshoot or seek repairs as needed.
- Identify opportunities for work processes improvement and enhance customer satisfaction, making recommendations to supervisors as appropriate.
- Stay updated on latest developments in the field through seminars, workshops, and professional organizations, integrating knowledge into current practices.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines impacting cardiovascular technology and cardiac labs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years - Required
- ACLS and BLS certifications - Required
- Oregon nursing license - Must be willing to obtain
