Job Description

Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OT) and in accordance with state practice guidelines, the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) provides services including assisting with patient assessment, treating patients, delivering home programs, and providing patient and family instruction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an OT.
• Monitor patients' response to treatment and modify sessions as needed in collaboration with the OT.
• Participate in team processes, consulting and collaborating with team members and staff.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and other guidelines, promoting patient and employee safety.
• Utilize treatment modalities safely and appropriately.
• Engage in proper discharge planning, ensuring equipment is recommended and documented.
• Attend and contribute to team conferences.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess an Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of employment.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
