Weekends: 6p-6:30a, Weekdays: 11:30a-12a (overnights) with a rotating schedule. Candidates must have flexibility.

Job Description

Under general supervision, the Computed Tomography Technologist specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. The technologist may also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Review clinical data and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining necessary medical history.
• Prepare procedure room and replenish stock such as linen and supplies.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
• Manually control equipment to obtain diagnostic information.
• Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for potential reactions.
• Assist Radiologist in complex sterile diagnostic procedures.
• Demonstrate radiation protection principles during imaging procedures.
• Resolve image exceptions and confirm high-quality image delivery into PACS.
• Complete all study indexing within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Maintain high standards of team communication and customer service.
• Document necessary information in medical records and radiology information systems.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associates degree in Applied Science in Radiology.
• BLS certification from AHA.
• ARRT (CT) certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment and strong communication skills.
• Peripheral IV insertion experience or willingness to obtain training is required.
