36 or 48 hours per week; Monday-Friday day shifts. Evening on-call responsibilities until 11 PM with no weekends or holidays.

Job Description

The RN First Assistant (RNFA) is a highly trained Registered Nurse who collaborates with the surgeon and healthcare team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during operations. This role requires proficiency in perioperative nursing and the ability to perform both scrub and circulate duties when not assigned as an RNFA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the surgical team during operations, ensuring a safe and effective environment.
• Perform duties of OR staff RN when not actively functioning as an RNFA.
• Utilize knowledge, skill, and judgment specific to clinical practice in the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program.
• CNOR certification is required.
• Two (2) years of OR experience, preferably in a level 1 trauma center.
• Davinci Robotics experience is required across various surgical specialties.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY) is required.
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY) is preferred.
