CVICU Registered Nurse - Nights

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30) with possibility of rotation. Requires every third weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The CVICU RN will provide care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery and those with critical cardiac conditions. The nurse will be responsible for managing hemodynamic instability, medication titration, and specialized cardiac procedures. This role demands a high level of expertise in critical care nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients requiring inotropic medications and monitor hemodynamic status.
• Perform critical interventions such as ECMO and CRRT management.
• Provide post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients including CABG, MVR, and AVR.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide patient education and support to families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience required; first-time travelers with prior relevant experience will be considered.
• Active Maryland RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI certifications required; OCN, and TNCC preferred.
• Experience in Epic charting system is required.
