This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Friday - Monday; 12:30 PM - 11 PM, consisting of 4 ten-hour shifts, with no on-call obligation.

Job Description

The Medical Imaging Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, manager, and Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. Utilizing their specific modality, the technologist creates diagnostic images while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients. In radiation-producing modalities, technologists practice and enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16. They support ongoing education and adaptation as technology evolves.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical imaging procedures.
• Assist in the clinical evaluation and care of patients.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and New York State standards.
• Provide patient care that considers age and special characteristics of each patient.
• Maintain competent imaging skills within the practicing modality.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate degree in Applied Science - required.
• Diploma in X-Ray - required.
• Graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program - required.
• ARRT certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered upon hire - required.
• New York State registration or possess a limited permit to practice in New York - required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association - required upon hire.
