Schedule

Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours. Schedules may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with no guarantee of hours or shift preference. On-call shifts may be required 0-3 times per month.

Job Description

The PACU Nurse will provide exceptional care to patients in the post-anesthesia recovery phase. Responsibilities include monitoring patients after surgery, assessing incision sites, and ensuring patient stability while demonstrating advanced knowledge of anesthesiology.

Responsibilities

• Caring for patients pre-op and during phase I and II recovery.
• Monitoring vital signs and tracking indicators of complications.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Administering prescribed treatments and medications.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years experience as a critical care RN (ER and ICU experience accepted in lieu of PACU experience).
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• A valid professional nursing license from the state of Hawaii is required prior to the start date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential is recommended.
• Other specialty-related certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) are preferred.
