Schedule

Full-time schedule of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, five days per week. No weekends, holidays, or on-call required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position focuses on expanding knowledge and skills and provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. The RN directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assess comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care with the healthcare team.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients and families regarding status and care plans.
• Perform medication administration using advancements in bar-scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward patient outcomes and initiate interventions as necessary.
• Identify ethical issues and respond to opportunities to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Maintain competencies, certifications, and continuing education as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire.
• At least six months of relevant nursing experience, or active participation in a Nurse Residency Program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey required.
• BLS certification mandatory.
• Experience in neurology and epilepsy is highly preferred.
