Job Description

The NICU Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies in a Level III NICU. The role requires competencies in operating high-frequency ventilators and oscillators as well as a readiness to assist in adult care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory care and manage ventilator settings according to protocols.
• Perform assessments and evaluations of patients with respiratory distress.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team regarding patient care plans.
• Monitor and document patient response to therapies and make adjustments as necessary.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding respiratory care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience.
• BLS, ACLS, & PALS certifications are required.
• NRP certification for NICU is required.
• Experience with Meditech is preferred.
