Works 5 out of 6 weekends, Friday to Sunday, from 6 PM to 6:30 AM.

Job Description

Under limited supervision, provides, plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care in the Emergency Department. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and maintains satisfactory relations with other departments. Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing nursing functions for patients.
• Utilize gathered data to determine priorities for patients' physical, psychological, educational, and discharge needs.
• Administer medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly.
• Evaluate patient and family responses to the implementation of the plan of care and modify as necessary.
• Participate in the orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Support and enforce infection control policies and procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC.
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
