Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gas therapies to patients. The role involves performing both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care and General Practice Units. Effective communication with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other healthcare employees is essential to address patient care needs. Additionally, all aspects of patient care must be adequately documented.

Responsibilities

• Deliver life-support and resuscitation therapy to patients.
• Perform diagnostic procedures in both Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
• Maintain clinical expertise for departmental assignments at various business units.
• Supervise and direct staff, including Respiratory Therapists, externs, and students, as assigned.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
• Complete necessary patient billing information.

Schedule

Shifts available:

• 6 AM - 6:30 PM (3 positions)
• 6 PM - 6:30 AM (2 positions)

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• BLS Certification.
