10:30 AM - 11:00 PM, Every 3rd Weekend, Holidays as needed, On Call.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level without requiring constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
• Restricts radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to prevent exposure to unaffected parts of the patient.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in various locations, including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Maintains orderly x-ray room as directed by the head of the department and processes exposed x-ray films accordingly.
• Prepares radiopaque contrast media and assists the physician in administering mixtures to patients.
• Handles administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, film filing, and maintenance of records.
• Provides assistance to all patients based on their individual needs and abilities.
• Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies care to fit those needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care facility.
• Must possess New Jersey State License.
• Must be able to meet the requirements for the National Registry and pass the examination.
• Experience in emergency room and operating room settings as well as with pediatric patients is required.
