MRI Technologist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with an obligation to work every 3rd weekend (3rd Saturday and Sunday).

Job Description

Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs a variety of technical MRI procedures necessary for the diagnosis of disease in humans. Ensures compliance with department standards and maintains an accuracy rate of at least 99% in all technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform MRI procedures to ensure high quality results.
• Schedule appropriate time for each patient and regularly review requisitions received.
• Prepare and administer opaque contrast media with 100% accuracy.
• Process images within 30 minutes of examination completion.
• Translate physician's orders into accurate radiographic procedures.
• Maintain patient logs and equipment downtime records.
• Collaborate with radiologists to develop effective imaging protocols.
• Assume charge technologist responsibilities as needed.
• Follow protocols for stat and emergency studies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of supply needs.
• Transport patients safely within the department.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Assist patients and families during their stay.
• Cross-train in other applicable areas.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year prior experience as a licensed MRI Technologist.
• Must possess a valid NJ State MRI License.
• AART (MRI) certification required.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients.
