Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse - Neurology

This position is located in a pediatric intensive care unit in North Carolina.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

The shift for this role is 12-hour nights from 18:45 to 07:15, working every other weekend.

Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse is responsible for providing critical care to patients aged 0-17 years, managing various diagnoses including respiratory issues, neurosurgery, and hematology/oncology cases. This role requires specialized skills in neurology and the management of post-operative patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage and care for critically ill pediatric patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform technical procedures such as IV placement and lab draws.
• Support families and patients through education and emotional support.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a pediatric intensive care setting, with specific neurology experience.
• Active BCLS and PALS certifications.
• First-time travelers with a minimum of 2 years of experience are welcome to apply.
