Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Surgical Decision Unit (SDU) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients. This role requires ICU experience and a comprehensive understanding of the growth and development stages across all age groups. The nurse will perform thorough assessments, demonstrate competent clinical skills, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic and comprehensive patient assessments.
• Deliver direct patient care activities and support team collaboration.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding surgical procedures.
• Ensure adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Individualize patient care based on specific procedures and protocols.
• Evaluate pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year ICU experience - Required
• Current RN License - Required
• BLS Certification - Required
• ACLS Certification - Required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - Preferred
