Job Description

The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region. Responsibilities include overseeing patients experiencing respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. We expect our nurses to be competent in advanced care techniques, including the administration of medications and the monitoring of critical health indicators.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for high acuity medical and surgical patients.
• Administer ACLS and advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Manage antihypertensive, sedative, and narcan drips, as well as thrombo-embolytics.
• Oversee monitoring equipment: a-line, CVP, EVD, and ortho traction.
• Implement infection prevention protocols as necessary.
• Utilize HFNC, BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent based on patient needs.
• Maintain an average patient load of 3 high acuity patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Epic experience required.
• Experience in large-scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU preferred.
• Must possess relevant nursing certifications and licensure.
