Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Care

AM shifts, Monday through Friday, either from 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide inpatient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-acuity settings such as ICU, Step-Down, or Cardiac units.

Responsibilities

• Maintain acceptable visit productivity standards.
• Complete documentation within established time frames and transfer back within 24 hours.
• Document skilled interventions to justify each patient visit according to regulatory guidelines.
• Interface professionally with other healthcare professionals, students, and families.
• Utilize aides appropriately in delivering care.
• Act as a preceptor to new staff, providing guidance and support.
• Demonstrate evidence of interdisciplinary communication.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to safety standards.
• Practice appropriate infection control measures.
• Educate patients and families using age-appropriate and culturally sensitive teaching tools and methods.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and revise plans as needed.
• Provide orientation to new employees.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A valid New Jersey Occupational Therapy License.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
