7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with the requirement to work every other weekend and one holiday.

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, the nurse will provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families. Effective communication of pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team is essential, along with collaboration in finding solutions for variances from patient goals.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for patient care.
• Delegate and supervise nursing care provided by nursing staff.
• Document care and patient teaching effectively.
• Communicate patient information clearly to the healthcare team.
• Participate in the development and implementation of solution strategies for patient care variances.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Ability to care for post-operative open heart patients.
• Experience with Impella and IABP is required.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
