Schedule

Night shift: 4x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including weekdays and every other weekend.

Job Description

The Med Surg RN will work in a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit that also accommodates med/surg overflow. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required. The nurse will provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients, focusing on administering chemotherapy, monitoring treatment side effects, and offering education and support to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion therapies.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and side effects.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams.
• Maintain thorough patient records in Cerner EMR.
• Handle chemotherapy administration and disposal of cytotoxic spills safely.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience; 2 years preferred.
• Current RN License in West Virginia or Compact License (pending licenses accepted).
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS Chemo/Bio certification preferred.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
