Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN plays a crucial part in promoting patient and employee safety, focusing on a culture of safety within the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and goals by collaborating with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in medical records.
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure direct patient care is delivered effectively.
  • Initiate discharge planning on admission and provide patient education throughout the stay.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
  • Direct, train, and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, while organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety following hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assume charge responsibility as requested after completion of orientation.
  • Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position is for a night shift, working 4x12 hour schedules.
