Day shift, 4x12 hour schedule (07:00 - 19:00) with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Acute Stroke Unit specializes in the care of acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders, focusing on evidence-based care during primary prevention and acute care phases. This position requires the ability to handle a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg patients.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, including the use of rapid response and code teams.
• Provide IV therapy and peripheral line care/management.
• Administer respiratory care, including nasal cannula and oxygen management.
• Implement isolation precautions as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have an active New York State nursing license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical-Surgical Telemetry setting.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Experience with EPIC charting is essential.
