Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with complex medical needs. The RN will utilize critical thinking and advanced clinical skills in the management of patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient conditions and perform assessments.
• Administer medications and therapies as per physician orders.
• Document care provided in the electronic health record (Epic).
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Manage cardiac drips and perform EKGs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Float between three facilities as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with ICU experience preferred.
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS (must have at time of submittal), NIHSS (must obtain prior to start).
• Experience with Epic charting system and familiarity with cardiac drips required.
• Must be nicotine-free and able to pass a negative 10-panel drug test including nicotine.
