Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, which emphasize patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals based on nursing admission assessments in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate patient information and status for team conferences.
• Engage in direct patient care, using the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Provide supervision and direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Contribute to the positive functioning of the unit and participate in team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience.
• ICU experience or appropriate skills for Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH).
