Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides direct patient care, utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills. This unit caters primarily to surgical patients, including those from oncology.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load of 1:2, adapting assignments based on acuity and skills.
• Utilize all ICU equipment, including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitors.
• Perform procedures such as central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses are not accepted).
• CCRN certification preferred.
